HYPER GREEN HUB
This project aims to offer an innovative hub as a more sustainable alternative to traditional farms by creating a hyper-farm that brings startup culture, education, and urban farming together within the Floyd Bennet Field. The current agricultural system needs to sufficiently and sustainably feed people living in urban areas. By 2050, there will be a need to produce 70% more food to feed the world population of 10 billion. The current agricultural system needs to sufficiently and sustainably feed people living in urban areas. Therefore, a Hyper-Farm like this would test the future’s innovative urban farming techniques, engage communities, and educate upcoming generations on topics of food scarcity/security and climate change scarcity/security and climate change topics. The roof’s sun-shading mechanism would serve the purpose of both passive cooling and heating while making the project more adaptable.
The building's original brick structure will be kept to reduce this project's carbon footprint. The staircase - ramp will divide the space and exhibit the work above and under it. The Startup offices would be located on the sides of the building.
The center part would be used for education and conferences and finally, the grand staircase ramp would be used for exhibiting new Technologies.
